"True religion is real living; living with all one's soul, with all one's goodness and righteousness"

- Albert Einstein

Statement of Intent

At Scholes Village Primary School we aim to explore the rich heritage of faiths and beliefs through shared thinking. We believe it is an excellent opportunity to develop critical and reflective skills that will support each child in discovering their own journey of purpose and meaning. RE offers time and space for children to reflect on their own thoughts, provide opportunities to raise questions for themselves and of others to cultivate mutual respect, tolerance and critical thinking. We promote respect and open-mindedness towards others with different faiths and beliefs and encourages pupils to develop their sense of identity and belonging. We believe that the opportunities and experiences we provide will enable children to understand why RE is relevant to their lives now and how it will continue to be relevant in the future.
