'Gifted and Talented' pupils

"Rising numbers of the most able pupils attain the highest levels in reading, writing and mathematics by the end of Year 6." Ofsted 2015.

At Scholes Village Primary School we maintain a consistent commitment to provision for Gifted and Talented pupils in school.  Our school has a culture of high expectations and aspirations for the future which filters through from the most able pupils to all others.  We use the term ‘Gifted and Talented’ to identify children who we believe have the capacity to achieve or perform at the very highest levels in any subject area.

If your child has been placed on our ‘Gifted and Talented children’ register you will be informed through your child’s class teacher.  The member of staff responsible for leading provision for Gifted and Talented learners throughout school is Mrs Hartley.

Our school is a member of NACE (National Association for Able Children in Education) and we follow their subject specific guidance to help us to identify those children who display outstanding ability and application of skills in a particular subject area.

Please view our ‘Gifted and Talented Children’ policy in the policies section of our website for more information.

If you would like more information about the provision in place for your child, please speak to your child’s class teacher or Mrs Hartley.
